So, the shop I took it to was/is wrong. They said it was my front brakes. Now, I thought this was odd since the noise didn’t change when applying brakes but it was something I planned on doing this weekend, so I gave it a shot. I took a couple hours out of a busy day to replace the rotors and pads. Drove around some and guess what, still the same. I’ll be giving them a call in the morning, but probably ultimately going somewhere else.

Definitely go somewhere else. Find a real mechanic, and not a parts replacer.

If I could I’d just take it to my uncle’s shop again but it’s nearly 2 hours away. Worst case scenario is I take it up this weekend and borrow the mommy mobile again.

can’t trust the dealer either, i paid over$2k to fix a vibration to two different dealers and it still vibrated, I finally jacked it up and put it in gear and the left drive axle was flappin around like a dog’s hind leg. bought one from oreilly’s for $75 and put it in myself. ‘course the dealers didn’t give me my money back they “replaced stuff that needed replacing”

Bring it to me, find a shop that’ll rent the lift for 4 hours.

They don’t seem to exist around here.

I've had a few over the years. I know they're rare, so I treat them like solid freaking gold.

I do some of my own work (like my brakes yesterday). But, I rent so I lack a lot of the tools to do the bigger jobs. I also need my car for work. Can’t have it down for days while I figure out problems.

Sounds like you just need another car so you have something to drive while you fix the broken one. ;)

That’s a poor excuse, we had 4 vehicles at one point when we were renting.

Although we had off-street parking and the neighbors only had one vehicle each, so they allowed us to use their “extra” spots.
